This is a budget package, in clean and decent accommodations covering the best of Namibia.
Day 1 – Windhoek – Windhoek Gardens Guesthouse – standard room – Bed and breakfast
Upon arrival at Windhoek International airport you will be met by our driver. You will then be transferred to your overnight accommodation in Windhoek.
Tomorrow after a hearty breakfast, our representative will deliver your travel documentation. This includes maps, itinerary with detailed driving directions, vouchers, emergency contact numbers, and also answer any questions you may have. Your 4x4 vehicle will also be delivered this morning. We recommend you buy some water and snacks to take on the road with you. Your vehicle includes two spare tyres, tow rope, second battery, jumper cables, tools for tyre change, fuses and a compressor.

Day 2 – Kalahari – Lapa Lange Lodge – luxury room – Bed and breakfast
The lodge is surrounded by the majestic beauty of Southern Namibia… a diverse and stark landscape, rich in plant, animal and bird life. There are over thirty different species of game to be found on our semi desert savannah. Set in the rugged Namibian wilderness lies a relative oasis of luxury. Built around a waterhole this beautiful lodge offers a wide range of accommodation options to travel couples and groups. Choose from a freestanding chalet, luxury suite or peaceful campsite. Relax near the water hole and watch a variety of game come to drink or hop in one of our game drive vehicles to track some game. There are thirty different species of game found on our game farm including exotic species such as Rhino, Black Impala, Golden & White Oryx, Black & White Springbok, White Blesbok, Njala, Giraffe, Cheetah, Kudu, Gemsbok, Zebra & many more. Day 3 & 4 – Sossusvlei – Hammerstein lodge – standard room – Bed and breakfast
Hammerstein is situated between Swakopmund and Lüderitz, nestled between the Nubib and Tsaris mountains. It is an ideal stopover for travellers to the south of Namibia. It is in close proximity to the beautiful Sossusvlei region and only 60km from Sesriem.
Visitors have a choice between bungalows equipped for self-caterers, camping facilities or dinner, bed and breakfast lodging. A few kilometers from the Lodge, rocky outcrops of massive granite boulders conjure up visions of a giant’s playground. It is from one of these boulders – an enormous rock shaped like a hammer – that “Hammerstein”, the German name of the farm, was derived.
Day 5 & 6 – Swakopmund – Hotel Pension de la Mer – standard room – Bed and breakfast
This property is 2 minutes’ walk from the beach. Hotel A la Mer offers accommodation in the heart of Swakopmund, a stone-throw-away from the beach and the historical jetty. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar, and the convenience of secured parking and free WiFi.
Day 7 – Damaraland – Igowati lodge – standard room – Bed and breakfast
iGowati Lodge offers a decent base to explore the wonders of Damaraland. The main attractions are Twyfelfontein, the Petrified Forest, the Organ Pipes, Vingerklip and The White Lady rock painting at the Brandberg Mountain. In the Damara language, iGowati means 'desert dunes.' The lodge is situated in the small, slightly run down, town of Khorixas (named after the Khori bush, Salvadora persica).
The thatched lodge been decorated in the colours of the Namib Desert. The restaurant and bar (with satellite TV) are located inside. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be ordered from the 'a la carte' menu. The swimming pool offers a welcome respite from those hot, Namibian afternoons.
Other facilities include a curio shop and an internet facility. A safe is available in the office to lock up valuables. There is secure parking and 24hr gate security. Children of all ages are welcome are iGowati Lodge.
On some nights the Aba’s Khab traditional dance group are in house to entertain their guests. Mr. Michael Doeseb a local cultural historian is at hand on most evenings to share some interesting facts about the Damara people and their traditions.
Accommodation is in 29 en-suite rooms, with a combination of baths or showers. They are all equipped with a fan, telephone, tea/coffee station, mini-bar and a fridge. Some of the rooms have mosquito nets.
Activities revolve around self-drive trips to all of the main attractions of Damaraland. Although the does not offer guided activities, general information is freely and readily available, and lunch packs and soft drinks can be provided on request.
A slightly more unusual and fun day is a (per-booked) donkey cart trip through the town of Khorixas, just as the Damara people used to travel. (And some still do!) The journey stops at a local shebeen for a drink or two and a taste of some of the local delicacies, such as Mopane worm. There is a strong emphasis on interacting with the Damara people, before returning to iGowati Lodge for perhaps a more familiar tipple!
Day 8 & 9 – Etosha National park – Toshari lodge – standard room – Bed and breakfast
Nestled on an outcrop of dolomite rocks, under a forest of Mopane and white Seringa trees, Toshari Lodge offers affordable but enchanting accommodation close to Etosha National Park, one of Namibia’s major attractions.
Situated only 25 kilometres from Andersons Gate at the edge of the magnificent Etosha National Park and close to the main road between the towns of Outjo and Okaukuejo; Toshari Lodge is ideally positioned for day visits into the park; on your own or on our expertly guided tours.
